Get your tail moving and join the Belleville Area Humane Society‘s annual Race for Rescues at Belleville West High School on Sunday, April 22nd!
1 DAY AWAY!!! Online registration ends at 9AM on 4/21! Once online registration is closed, you can still register in person at packet pick-up on 4/21 from 11-3PM at the shelter. You can also register on the day on the event at Belleville West beginning at 7:30AM.
This year, we’re offering an early bird special! Registration will be $20 ($30 for long sleeve shirts) until March 15th, and on March 16th, we’ll raise the price to $25 ($35 for long sleeves).
You can race on your own or with your dog. We’ll be holding a timed event for both humans and canines. The top three division winners in each age group will receive a shiny medal and bragging rights! Top three overall winners in both the male and female divisions will receive trophies. Participants of all ages and physical capabilities welcome–we’re having a one mile fun run and kid’s fun run this year.
Every registrant will receive a t-shirt and will be timed and eligible to win races. Long sleeve shirts are currently sold out. Registered dogs will receive a bandana with the Race for Rescues logo.
Age group divisions are as follows:
13 and under
60 and over
Packets may be picked up at the Belleville Area Humane Society on Thursday, April 19th from 11-5 or Saturday, April 21st from 11-3.
All remaining packets will be available after 7:30 AM on the event date at Belleville West High School.
Come out for exercise and excitement to help raise money for shelter animals. We’ll be showing off some of our adoptable buddies and selling other BAHS t-shirts. Come even if you can’t run!
After the race, The Egg & I Restaurant will be cooking up some post-race pancakes.
Register by phone, in person at the shelter, or online at the ticketing link below.
Do you have a child who wants to help support the animals at BAHS? We have added a walk-a-thon to this year’s Race for Rescues. Your child can pledge to walk for our animals and get sponsorships for the miles walked. The Race for Rescues fun run would make the perfect “final mile” for your child. You can turn in donations at the race on April 22nd. Email email@example.com for pledge sheets or with any questions.
